salty lips and sun burnt noses.

i'm back. i couldn't stay away for too long. 

here are just a few snaps form our days at the beach. the ocean was crystal clear and the sand so fine, it felt like we were walking on powdered sugar. it was blazing hot, but the wind definitely made things more bearable. also, it provided me with a nice sunburn. i underestimated the power of the rays and i didn't want to listen to the boyfriend, who insisted on applying sun lotion multiple times. i just didn't want to be bothered with it. stubbornness is my weakness.

metallica.

not only one of my favorite bands, but also the title for today's visual post. 

not too long ago, i made my first purchase at madewell and one of the items was a really simple silver metallic clutch, that i found on sale. 

inspired by the madewell clutch, i looked through my visuals folder and discovered some other metallic items and images that i really love.

this week kicked my ass in all aspects of my daily life. i'm a little bit out of it due to lack of sleep. i didn't have time to sit down to work on the blog or to see what you all have been up to. i had some surprise visitors from germany, who had arrived last sunday. they took a little tour around florida and made a stop in the bay.

then,  last night, i went to my first baseball game here in st.petersburg at the tropicana. lets just say, it is not the most entertaining thing i've seen and you really have to be a fan in order to love it. either way, it was nice to be around friends and watching the fans was the entertaining part for me. today, i finally managed to grab some time to sit down and see all the posts i've missed in the last few days.

i've participated in an art exchange project through the art house co-op and received the polar bear illustration from kirsty in exchange. it came all the way from london and now i'm wondering where my art creation ended up. 

tomorrow is mother's day, so even if you didn't get your mom a gift, don't you dare forget to give her a big hug and a kiss on a cheek.

the seventh day.

laziness. a beautiful part of life, don't you think? when there's nothing else you have to take care of and you have a whole day to waste, laziness tends to set in pretty quickly. i'm a morning person and most productive in the early hours of the day. i figure, get everything done right away, so that you don't have to worry about it later. can somebody agree with me on this theory?

i spent the afternoon at the pool, listened to alabama shakes and watched a family of ducks walking back and forth from one pond to the other. simple enough.

oh, and last night in honor of cinqo de mayo, i punched a pinata. several times. it felt good.

around the bay.

some leftovers that didn't make it on the blog before. i just felt bad letting them sit there collecting dust. these have been taken during the last two months, at various locations, when the weather was demanding for me to be out. it is already getting quite warm around the bay area, but the evenings are still really mild and beautiful. that's not gonna last long. the heat wave is on its way and it's gonna last for the next six months. that's florida for you. 

oh, i've accumulated 100 readers! to you it might not mean much, but i consider it to be pretty great. welcome to all my new readers and hopefully i can keep your attention for a while.

a few bits from our sunday. brunching away downtown while watching people pass by. 
the boyfriend took the day off and wanted to enjoy an easy afternoon. the great girlfriend that i am, i couldn't deny him that little bit of joy. 

currently, i'm in my pajamas, getting ready to watch martha marcy may marlene. don't know why i always feel compelled to watch such dark and heavy dramas right before i go to bed, but it sort of calms me down. go figure.

switcheroo.

usually, i'm a very rational being, but every now and then i get these strange impulses to do something weird. i stumbled upon this a few weeks ago while i was rummaging through the www and immediately said to myself "oh, i'm definitely doing this!" the question is, how do i get the boyfriend to do this?! see, he sometimes gets a little freaked by my ideas and doesn't always approve. i mentioned this to him and you should've seen the look he gave me. he has this "look" that just makes me crawl back into myself. not a word needs to be said, i just know that it's time to run.
otherwise, the boyfriend is quite charming and i love him dearly.

new companion.

another weekend has come and gone, yet again. hope that yours was a memorable one. saturday was pretty good to me. i've spent the afternoon shopping with a friend, where we caught up on life over a nice lunch and a cold beer. stella artois for me and a newcastle for her. spontaneously we ended up getting together with some other friends and the boyfriend joined us after work. we walked the streets of downtown aimlessly, ate mediocre pizza from a paper plate, laughed reminiscing about old times and enjoyed some more beer drinking. at the end of the night we got soaked in the rain while running through the streets looking for our ride. a saturday well done. 

today, i've stopped by the local tj maxx to look for a new picture frame. i didn't find the frame, but ended up with this cynthia vincent bag instead. i like this version as well.
